Angus 05:04
Angus written by Beth McKee ©Swampgirl Music Where will the four winds carry you? Once you are gone what will your mother do? Is there one path you're apt to choose Or will you close your eyes and dive Deep into the blue Let it bear you off to learn a thing or two Do you feel like you're outside the swarm| Have you felt that way sometimes before   Once you cross that line, go down, down the jagged edge You may find yourself on some windy ledge I pray that you survive the raging storm. Where will ambition lay you down Will you plant your feet on humble ground   Or will you give it your all, Refuse to compromise Climb the highest hill, claim the golden prize I truly hope you’re happy where you’re bound When life is done  will you take it well Or will you fear the acid gates of hell Will you lay down to sleep? Finally rest in peace Or will you cling to life, put up a valiant fight Until they carry you off into the night Angus

Are You Happy Now? written by Beth McKee ©Swampgirl Music, BMI There it is what you’ve wanted for so long Now that you have it, are you proud of what you’ve done Do you feel that you deserve it, do you even know If it’s really precious or just some old fool’s gold? Did you sacrifice, or did destiny hand you the ticket that won You have reached your highest point, what’s it going to be Are you happy now Can you simmer down Be satisfied to close your eyes, enjoy the ride Can you work it out Are you happy now Tell me, are you happy now? Will you thank the ones who helped you, bear your heavy load? Are you dumb enough to think you pulled it off all on your own Will you credit those who gave their time To listen to you sifting through the gravel in your mind Or will you burn your bridges up and leave your past behind Flash in the pan or the motherlode Slipping through your hands wasting on the floor Will you start all over, aim a little higher Try to find another way to set the world on fire Or will you cash it in to be a member of the choir

In Between the Lines written by Beth McKee/John Pfiffner ©Swampgirl Music, BMI What are you trying to say? In between the lines at the end of the day Have I been on your mind? Now, I remember your way Of taking your time and wrecking me Keep sending keep sending keep sending Have I been on your mind Have I been on your mind I thought I knew what I wanted Leave it to you to remind me Keep sending keep sending Till I don’t want it Cold, turned out the light I'll sleep on the floor not here anymore Keep sending keep sending keep sending Have I been on your mind What are you trying to say?

Resurrection Mary Written by Beth McKee and ti Kelliher
One cold Chicago night, so the story goes
She left the O’Henry Ballroom, walking home alone
They found her lying peacefully on the wrong side of the road Straight to Resurrection wasn’t too far to go On the highway to Justice, where her vision roams
Always in a party dress and a gossamer coat
She’ll put her hand out, beckoning with her eyes
Many have lived the legend taking her for a ride Resurrection Mary, dancing all night long At the feet of Jesus, in the shadows till dawn So pretty and young, wide-eyed and tough Till everything went wrong Resurrection Mary, why don’t you come on home? Many long years we mourned her, her father and I
Now we all share the family plot, and she slips out every night Resurrection Mary, dancing all night long At the feet of Jesus, in the shadows till dawn So pretty and young, wide-eyed and tough Till everything went wrong Resurrection Mary, why don’t you come on home?

The Fall 04:04
Feeling the Fall Written by Beth McKee & Renee Arozqueta ©Swampgirl Music, BMI She has a feeling, fall is coming Closes the door and tries to unwind Yesterday caught her without a warning She learned her lesson, she’s ready this time Once you’ve survived "the worst that can happen" There’s no disaster____ you can’t take on But everyday problems leave her all rattled Wondering where her courage has flown But she has right now And love winds like ribbon around her Makes her feel better somehow As hard as she works at keeping out the cold Fall always turns her world around But she has right now, come on right now The day brings potential, new beginnings A long list of loose ends and things to be done Right on its heels an ache so familiar Blocks all the light right back to square one. Come on, right now There is a shadow that blooms In the darkness And it waits to catch you unguarded And consume you Come on right now, love wrap like ribbons around her Make her feel better somehow As hard as she works at keeping out the cold Come on, right now.

You Make it Look Easy written by Beth McKee ©Swampgirl Music, BMI

Once in awhile I run out of passion
Fire in my soul starts blowing cold And I let it go just don’t care
And it happened today I don't feel like trying
Some devil slipped in stole all my wind Made me want to quit cash it in
But I've seen you take life on The battles you have won
Give me the strength I need to keep on going

You make it look easy when it's rough
Getting to know you was a stroke of luck
You give me reason to never give up
 My inspiration
For such a long time I thought I was the leader
Whatever I said you nodded your head Always did agree with me, anyway
But when I fell from the carousel You came down into my well
To say that it was okay and you made me believe it You make it look easy when it's rough
Getting to know you was a stroke of luck
You give me reason to never give up
 My inspiration no hesitation
You don't seem to notice life can be unfair
You're like one of those roses growing through a crack in the road That finds a way to thrive And you make it look easy when it's rough
Getting to know you was a stroke of luck.
You give me a reason to never give up.
My inspiration, no hesitation, an inspiration

Mercy Point 03:48
Mercy Point written by Beth McKee ©SwampgirlMusic Where is my Sweet Sary I've searched everywhere She didn't call me out of bed she never combed my hair Not out in the kitchen or down by the chicken coop Last night she tucked me in singing sweet and low Songs of chariots to carry her She sang about a train "Everybody get on board Look up in the sky, follow the drinking gourd!" We will gather up, down at Mercy Point We will walk on the water Sister Moses promises there’ll be tribulation But our faith will carry us to Canaan Dreamed I was a butterfly riding a wagon wheel Then I was a blackbird flying out across the field I saw Sary in the dark walking on the river bend | She said “I’m headed out to Jerusalem." Headed to Jerusalem I'll miss my Sweet Sary, wish she'd taken me Without her I'm an orphan, she's my family tree But I will sing her songs, they are my reminder To carry on until I'm grown, then I'll go and find her. We will gather up, down at Mercy Point We will walk on the water Sister Moses promises there’ll be tribulation But our faith will carry us to Ca - naan

Mad Potter of Biloxi Written by Beth McKee and Tim Kelliher ©Swampgirl Music, BMI Hey Josephine, I'm headed to the Broken Pot River I gotta bury my hands in Tchoutacabouff mud I had a dream and I won't be home for dinner Got a lot to do and it’s gonna be good I was tired of working as a blacksmith and a tinker I went to New Orleans to find me another trade Old Myer made me a potter with the wheel and the water Now I make my way, making vessels from clay Mad Potter of Biloxi A mud dauber, by trade Unequalled, unrivaled, undisputed I am a brother to the human race 1894 well that was a bad year Fire came along and burned up half the town From every end comes a new beginning So I built me a castle to lay my babies down Mad Potter of Biloxi A mud dauber, by trade Unequalled, unrivaled, undisputed I am a brother of the human race

Echo Chamber 03:29
ECHO CHAMBER Written by Beth McKee ©Swampgirl Music You live by the code - coalition of cool You know the drill, you follow the rules Only one network can give you your news       Reverberating your views     in your echo chamber   Stick to your guns like a bottle of glue Plastering walls with your misquoted truths Wearing your opinions like an old pair of shoes You got holes in your soul     But you won’t let go Who died and left you all the answers Shall we consider your reasoning flawed                   What if you find out  at the reckoning   The other side had it   right The other side had it   right They had it right all along.   You like to win, you love to gloat You laugh a lot but mostly at your own jokes You may be the big wheel but where are your spokes Roll it on out in the sun  You ain't fooling no one It would be lovely if we could agree But airing our differences enhances the breeze I’ll give you a chance to challenge my creed But then you gotta listen to me Let’s work it out like Socrates.

about

A note from Beth: Dreamwood Acres could be any place, from a summer camp to a cemetery, a suburb or a sanatarium, and this record runs that gamut. I just let the songs go wherever they wanted. I guess that’s how I am— a little bit 'all over the place.' That being said, I’ve never had a project that was closer to my heart and more “me” than Dreamwood Acres. Let’s just call it free range music.
