about

Beth McKee wrote “Hold On (Italians in the Night)” with the help of fellow Orlando singer songwriter Terri Binion, just days before the pandemic found the city in lockdown. In the days that followed, Beth recorded the song in her home studio with the help of her drummer husband Juan Perez. She sent the files to John Pfiffner in Winston Salem, North Carolina who produced her last album, Dreamwood Acres. John added bass, guitars and harmony before mixing and mastering the track. Meanwhile, she’s sent a rough mix to artistic family members, also in North Carolina, who created a stunning stop motion video that beautifully illustrates the song which Beth intended as an auditory post-card of the pandemic. “I wanted it to be something we could refer back to, after this has all passed, and remember how it was, how we were, and how we felt. I think this song and the recording accomplish that."
